Week #240

Another up. The week started off promising ... I had a motivated Monday. Still not quite my usual 30k activity, but I kept the eating under control and had a nice scale slide. It didn't stick though. That was the only day I kept intake under my 2000 goal. Exercise was good Monday-Thursday, but the weekend went wrong, wrong, wrong.

NUMBERS: Not huge increases on the scale really. Official weight up .3 from last Monday. Average up .24. Only one day with calorie intake under goal. Average intake 2757. Average daily burn 2798. End of week overage of 2897. Just one 30k day, but four days with 3000+ burn (unfortunately, a few 3000+ intake days too). Step average 21417 with 53.99 logged miles. Cardio minutes logged in at 720/756/727 with 30min w/Weights.

EXERCISE: I achieved my hour of elliptical five of the seven days this week. Those five hours were all, there was no extra. Four times on the treadmill (30min each) and five Zumba classes. I did a lot of reading this week, but none of it while riding. I did one weights session.

OTHER ACTIVITIES: The usual driving and grocery shopping. A side trip to Shopko as well. One basketball game for #5 ... 9:00 start time! Oy, that is past my bedtime!

Here's a look at the Day by Day ...

  • Monday (0305) Still not quite back to my 30k days. I need to fit in a second treadmill time or a bike session. Just the one treadmill time today, in addition to my usual hour of elliptical and Zumba. Some shopping steps. Kept calories in check though. #5 had a late basketball game. 27789 steps. 3073 burn. 1800 intake.
  • Tuesday (0306) Not a 30k day, but I did do weights! Also my hour of elliptical and one treadmill time ... I even jogged some of it instead of just walking. Marian's Zumba was canceled as there was a funeral in the building, so I went to HeatherB's class. Hubs and #4 did a derby in the evening. National Oreo Cookie day ... I made homemade oreos. Eating over goal but barely under burn. 26808 steps. 3050 burn. 2800 intake.
  • Wednesday (0307) Hit my 3000+ burn, even though I didn't get to 30k. Hour of elliptical early, Zumba w/MZL and one treadmill time. Intake was uber over though, even with the higher burn. Cookie monster. 26592 steps. 3076 burn. 3200 intake.
  • Thursday (0308) Finally hit 30k for a day this week. Same workouts as previous days (hour of elliptical, Zumba and one treadmill time) but some shopping steps (a Sam's stop + Walmart) and other activity pushed it over today. Eating still high, but under burn anyway. 30520 steps. 3356 burn. 2800 intake.
  • Friday (0309) Well ... this Friday was a fail. Only Zumba today for a workout. Zumba (w/MZL) was really good. Lots of energy and higher stats than usual ... but with #5 out of school and late start at the middle/high schools, my morning routine was off and I didn't get my elliptical in early ... or at all! No treadmill time either. Just no motivation after the morning dancing. Although I was off duty dropping #5 to/from school, I spent the same amount of driving time getting him to/from friends. Also had to get him to/from practice in the evening. 14877 steps. 2508 burn. 2800 intake.
  • Saturday (0310) was a lazy day. No exercise. Not sure why I didn't do some. I should have, especially as eating was uber up. Hubs hosted a "pinewood derby workshop" in the morning, sharing his know-how, tools and other supplies. This has become an annual thing before the Pinewood Derby in our area. Lovely morning for having a bunch of people over in the garage. No basketball games today. I mowed the lawn.  9894 steps. 2133 burn. 3000 intake.
  • Sunday (0311) Hour of elliptical, three 20min sessions. Big family breakfast, but no big dinner today. There were Krispie Kreme donuts though ... 13442 steps. 2387 burn. 2900 intake.
*** What I Watched While Working Out ***

Four movies this week ... Australia (2008) is looong (2 hours 45 minutes) and I realized I'd seen it before as I started watching it. I didn't really remember it though, so I watched it again. It was good, but I didn't finish it in a day. Started the week off with Demolition (2015) ... If this had been in theaters, I never saw a preview. I liked it up until they destroyed the house, and some of the other interactions with the kid were a little disturbing. It wrapped up in the end leaving me looking back favorably for the most part. Fifty Shades Darker (2017) ... I have read the books and seen the first movie so, free on the HBO channel. Just had to make sure to watch when the boys weren't home and might bop in during questionable scenes. Abandon (2002) was another on the HBO channel, leaving this month, so I figured I'd give it a try although I'd heard nothing about it. It was just okay. The huge "twist" wasn't really surprising. To finish up my elliptical for the week, I watched the latest "Grey's Anatomy" and a bit of "Colony" ...

Five Featured Photos ...

#5 had a bad bloody nose.
At least it was before his game and we got it under control by tipoff.
You can see his game highlights HERE.

This event actually took place a while ago, but just aired this week. Mike Rowe (Dirty Jobs) has a Facebook show called "Returning the Favor" where he showcases someone who makes the world a bit of a better place (and he then does something nice for them). This was spotlighting a fellow in the area and #5 participated in the "parade" held in the man's honor. I had to snag a couple of the shots where #5 was visible ... because if you blink you'd miss it ;) You can watch the episode HERE.

Blood brothers ... #3 donated blood, #2 donated plasma.

We got our first egg Thursday ... still the only egg so far.

Hubs hosting his "derby workshop" ... the Pinewood Derby is coming up for our local scouts. Hubs knows not everyone has the know how, tools and supplies to complete their car, so he opens up the garage every year to help out anyone who wants to attend. He offers patterns and ideas, tools for cutting, drilling, sanding etc. Different ways to add weight and paint are also some of the stations offered. It was a good turnout this year, and the weather was wonderful!
